- Writing has been a part of Jan’s life since age nine, when she submitted a poem to the children’s poetry section of the Hartford Times newspaper, and promptly received her first rejection. But, what a rejection — a hand-written letter from the poetry editor encouraging her to continue writing. As an adult, Jan founded the Open Circle Writer’s Group and is a member of Connecticut Authors and Publishers Association. Along with writing, Jan has long had a passion for day tripping and enjoyed many years of designing special outings for friends and family before embarking on the adventure of writing a day tripping book. Jan is available to give book talks and presentations to interested groups and organizations in Connecticut, offering highlights of the many different aspects of Cruising Connecticut, or a special presentation based on your group's interests.

Nuts! I can't see the words on what Teddy is holding. What's it say?
Gina, You should have seen Teddy a few days ago. He was about 15 times this size, took up the whole screen. When I tried to resize, I got this tiny teddy. Will keep trying until I get it right. (First photo on my year-old blog!)
Anyway, he is holding a piece of cardboard that says, "Florida or bust" except "Florida" has been crossed out and "x-country" written in. You see, driving around the coast of Florida in an RV was his first trip and this is his second.
